Value Bet – To make a small to moderate sized bet with a very strong hand, in the hopes an opponent will feel compelled to call by the pot odds.

Variance – Measure of the up/down swings a player’s bankroll will endure over an extended period of time.

Verbal Declaration – Verbal, binding declaration of a player’s intention to bet.
