I
Image – The way other
players perceive a certain player at the table, whether
it be tight, aggressive etc.
Implied Odds – Amount
of money a player figures they can get out of an
opponent if they hit their hand. For example, if a
player is drawing to a straight and they put their
opponent on a big pair, the implied odds are high.
Improve – If a player
is holding a hand that needs to hit a card to win, they
need to improve.
Inside Straight Draw -
A straight draw in which an inside card will complete a
straight. For instance, a player needing to hit a 6 to
make the 4-5-6-7-8 straight.
In the Dark – Playing
and betting without looking at one’s hole cards.
In the Hole –
Facedown cards in Stud games – “Jerry has two nines
in the hole.”
In the Money –
Finishing in a paid position in a poker tournament.
Isolate – When a
player reraises a weak player’s bet in order to play
(and then outplay) them heads up in a pot.
